  1. If you would like to hear more of The Top Hat Gaming Man's ramblings and opinions with his friend, (and nemesis) Luke Street, come and check out our secondary channel
    Top Hat Chat.
Our newest video is about the original XBOX

  2. Sadly just the first few Wii were backwards compatible 🙁 they dropped it since the family edition. The situation is similar for DVD playback 🙁

  3. It would probably be hard to completely remove the motion controls from skyward sword. The best substitute control scheme I can imagine is using the right analog stick to angle your sword around, while pushing y or something to attack.

  4. A paper Mario trilogy would be cool. Obviously thousand year door is the show stealer, but having all three games in one package would be grand.

  5. star fox zero should be ported, but i wouldn't buy it, i clicked with the motion controls so i completed the game fully back on the wii u, but a normal control scheme would have been so much better,

zelda though, i also clicked with the motion controls and its great but simply turning off the motion controls here wouldn't make it that much better, theres quite a few flaws tbh

  6. I'm hoping for a Zelda skyward sword port to the switch. Imagine having the option to switch between HD rumble controls or standard controls.

  7. Mario Strikers Charged Football (Wii)
One of the best football games ever probably. At least the one I've actually played a whole lot. I really don't know why it never became more popular, since everyone who has played it seems to like it.

  8. Hello Top Hat Gaming man I think Square Enix own the rights to Terranigma as it was Enix Who published the game but it was delveloped by Quintet so I'm sure they could port it over I'd love to see that on the switch in physical form and able to play it portability

  9. I say bring on the ports. I'd love to have portable versions of Fallout 4, Borderlands The Handsome Collection, Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection, along with games from Vanillaware (Dragon's Crown, Muramasa, Odin Sphere) and Treasure (Radiant Silvergun & Ikaruga).

  10. All great choices but I think the ones with Motion Controls IE Star Fox Zero, Skyward Sword will be difficult for Nintendo to Port over because they would have to change the whole design when it comes to the motion controls. Otherwise Yes I want to play SFZero and Would love to play Skyward sword again without the motion controls

  11. I don't understand why you keep complaining about the price of the ports that the Switch is getting. iirc, all the games were the same price when they were first released on the Wii U, so people were originally paying full retail price to play them on an inferior and gimmicky console. Furthermore, these aren't just 1 to 1 ports. They have been enhanced in many aspects. Better resolution, new content, DLC now part of the base package, etc. The only people this can negatively affect are the 13 million people that bought a Wii U during its lifetime, which is honestly, a paltry installbase if you really think about it. Even the Switch has outsold the Wii U within its first year being on the market. So for the vast majority, these are brand new games. Plus, I think Nintendo deserve to see a return on these games they obviously put a fair amount of effort and resources into rather than being punished for releasing them on a console that was dead on arrival. If you have already played these games before and don't wish to double dip, then just don't buy them. Simple as that.

  12. I love your list, especially Super Mario All Star with Mario 64, Sunshine, and both Galaxy games with HD graphics; my cousin and I would love that to happen.

  13. I was thinking the similar thing but a compilation of Super Smash Bros. that includes all of them N64 to Wii U. They can all fit on one cartridge and it would be a big seller. A port of Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness would be nice too.

  14. While RPG were more popular in North America, Wich Include Canada and Québec( Yes Québec is an Country:P) compare to Europe; it was still Marginal.

In Fact Chrono Trigger sold 289k only (in Japan it was 2 Million).
Final Fantasy IV sold 340K only (Japan 1,89 Millons).
Final Fantasy VI was the best success of Square on the snes…. 450k (JAPAN 2,55). It was not a success at all for Square
Mystic Quest sold for 400 US and Europe while selling the same amount in Japan.

THe only JRPG that sold well on the SNES was… Super Mario RPG. 2,2m

THe only reason why you got Terragnima in Europe was because Square was not in Europe and that when some of Square game were send there it was trought Nintendo. Terragnima is so not know by most of gamer that it could not happen sadly.

  15. Considering how many people skipped the Wii U but bought the switch is a perfect reason why they should bring all those games to the switch

  16. gamecube games would be great since a lot of people missed out on it unless they had a gamecube or wii, also since they haven't had it on the virtual console yet

  17. I just want a HD Mario Party DS remake with connectivity to the original game.
Either that or a HD remaster of NSMB (2006) because of the amazing Mario VS Luigi mode in it. That would work amazingly with the Switch's joy cons!

  18. lost kingdom 1 and 2 from the gamecube would be great it might drum up some impetus for a reboot these two games are very under rated card based action rpgs come on from software do you really need to make souls games every year take a year out make a lost kingdom remake

  19. Honestly I was considering buying a Wii u to go along with my switch for all of the games I want to play plus the virtual console titles the Wii u has, but I hate having loads of consoles and having to keep unplugging one to plug another in. Plus I love the portability of the switch and overall I’d rather pay a bit more to have all the games I want on one system than have two or more systems tethered to my tv and taking up space.
That being said with the slow releases on switch and the fact that we’ve heard nothing on virtual console, I might lose patience and go down the Wii u path

  20. Great video! I have no problem with releasing ports on the Switch, but I definitely agree that it is absurd that such ports are released at full retail price. Unless you actually get something extra that makes the price worth it, it's just price gouging. Of course, for ports a Virtual Console would be the perfect avenue if only Nintendo would stop holding back and implement one on the Switch.

I definitely agree with your choices and reasoning for which games you would like to see. While I do have Skyward Sword for the Wii and the motion controls generally don't vex me too much, it's the Wiimote's tendency to guzzle batteries and the lack of any good rechargeable battery pack which detracts from the enjoyment of playing the game.

A couple old games I would love to see ported to the Switch would be the two SNES Lufia games. One thing I would prefer with such potential releases would be if the graphics were to be updated, that there at least be the option to play the game with the original graphics remastered for display on modern TVs. The Lufia games were pretty much my introduction to the JPRG genre, as I was too late to get Final Fantasy II during its time on the shelf, and Lufia & the Fortress of Doom was the game which eventually caught my eye. It's amusing to think back now that being able to fight in the opening battle was one of the selling points of the game.

Apparently, if I am not mistaken, Square-Enix now holds the rights to Lufia, so there may be a chance at some point as there have been rumblings that they want to bring as many titles as they can to the Switch.

I would also love to see Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past come to the Switch. It is the one console game which they didn't bother releasing on the Zelda compilation disc on the Gamecube. I would have loved to get an SNES classic to be able to play it but, alas, any attempts to find one either in Canada or able to be shipped to Canada (aside from awful scalpers which I refuse to enable) have come up empty.

Even though I prefer to buy my games physically, I would be happy if these older games were made available on a Switch Virtual Console.

  21. Megaman Legends 1 & 2 would be great if they re-did them with better controls and HD graphics. They should release it as a triple pack with the unreleased 3DS title Legends 3

  22. For my sake, I never bothered with the Wii U, and I'm glad I didn't. That's where I think porting Wii U titles to the Switch has its merits.

  23. Nintendo is literally raping their fans but they apparently like it, I still have my Wii U, I'm going to buy a Switch when more real games will be out, so far, no. If you own a Wii U, you can play Wii U, Wii and GC games (via a hack), plus all the virtua console and the emulators and it will cost you less to have the games (without hacking this time).

  24. if only all the video game guys worked toghter then mario would have a gun f zeros car would hit him on a racetrack hmm… acualty never mind
